Meet Jane

Hello!

I’m Jane, Director and Founder of Stillhet Yoga, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years however my practice became more consistent 4 years ago during a really difficult period in my life. I had reached a crossroads in my demanding career which had made me feel anxious, depressed and somewhat lost.

I turned to yoga and it became my biggest healer. It helped me to regain my sense of self, to accept and shift through my emotions so that they could be processed, to reconnect with my body, to find a place of calm from within and to love myself again.

It was during this time that I was drawn to deepen my practice and enrolled onto a yoga teacher training programme. It was a truly transformational experience and one from which I came away inspired as a teacher to share this beautiful practice with others.

As you get to know me, you will learn of my love for all things Scandinavian. Stillhet is a Norwegian word that translates to “stillness”, “tranquility”, “calmness”, or “peace”. The name of Stillhet Yoga was born out of this.

The Stillhet Yoga logo incorporates the open ensō symbol, which represents movement, development and speaks to imperfection as an essential and innate aspect of ourselves. Zen practitioners relate the idea to the beauty of imperfection.

True to its name, with Stillhet Yoga I am passionate about creating calm, safe, non-judgmental spaces for every body so they feel empowered and inspired through movement to live life in the most full and whole way.

I look forward to connecting with you soon.
